APSU Women’s Basketball faces Evansville at the Dunn Center, Saturday

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team is set for a weekend matchup with Evansville 1:00pm, Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 in the Dunn Center.  

The Govs are on a five-game winning streak for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

Austin Peay is shooting 46.3 percent from the field and averaging 71.7 points per game.

Five Governors have scored in double-digits in the last two games as the Govs look for their sixth-straight win for the first time since 2005-06 season.

The Governors are coming off a commanding win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff where they raced out to a 15-point lead and scored 97 points on 55.0 percent shooting.

APSU Basketball - Brianah FerbyFreshman Brianah Ferby led the way scoring 17 points and pulling down three rebounds in 17 minutes on the floor.

Keisha Gregory scored 15 points and racked up a team-high five rebounds in her fourth-straight game scoring in double-digits.

Brianne Alexander took control down low scoring 12-points, while Kelen Kenol scored a career-high 12-points and recorded four rebounds.

The Govs are facing an experienced Evansville squad with a backcourt trio currently shooting 44.2 percent from the field and combining for 41.2 points of the 66.0 average points per game for the Purple Aces.

Evansville is coming off a quick turnaround after a 92-54 loss to Western Kentucky November 30th.

Austin Peay faced Evansville last December and dropped the close contest 72-68 in Evansville.

Austin Peay faces Evansville for the 18th time in program history. The Govs lead the series 10-7, but have lost four of the last five meetings.

Five Governors scored in double figures against UAPB: Brianah Ferby (17), Keisha Gregory (15), Kelen Kenol (12), Brianne Alexander (12) and Brandi Ferby (10).

90-point games
The Governors scored 90 points against Arkansas-Pine Bluff for the first time since January 9th, 2016 when they scored 91 points in a victory over Tennessee Tech.

No Learning Curve
Freshman Brianah Ferby led the Govs in scoring against UAPB with 17 points. She has led the Governors in scoring twice this season.
