APSU Women’s Basketball releases 2019-20 Schedule

 

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball Coach David Midlick, has announced the schedule for the 2019-20 season.

Last season, APSU made its fifth straight appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, and its fourth straight under Midlick.

Austin Peay State University student-athletes average 3.0 GPA for a record fourth straight semester

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes posted a departmental grade-point average of 3.0 or better for a program-record fourth consecutive semester finishing the Spring 2019 semester with a 3.096 mark.

A department-record 70 percent of Austin Peay’s 289 varsity student-athletes earned academic honors for the spring semester. The last eight semesters dating back to Fall 2015 have yielded eight of the top-10 semester GPA’s since tracking data began in 1993. For just the fourth time, more than 100 Govs earned a spot on the Dean’s List, with 48 posting perfect 4.0 GPA’s for the semester.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Thursday, March 7th kicks off Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) stay in Evansville for the Ohio Valley Conference Men and Women’s Basketball Tournament and single-session tickets are on sale now through the Austin Peay ticket office.

David Midlick and the women’s program open play 1:00pm, Thursday, against fourth-seeded Tennessee Tech; as the fifth seed, it equals the Governors best seed during Midlick’s tenure as head coach.

Austin Peay State University guard Keisha Gregory named to First Team All-OVC

APSU Women's BasketballBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) senior guard Keisha Gregory has been named First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference, the league announced Tuesday.

Gregory was a catalyst for the Governors offense, leading the team in points scored (395), points per game (13.6), free throws made (126) and attempted (142), as well as assists (83). She remained a stalwart in the lineup, starting all 29 games and leading the Govs in minutes (885) and minutes per game (30.5).

APSU Women's BasketballMurray, KY – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team could not complete a late comeback, falling to Murray State, 77-72, Saturday, at the CFSB Center.

The Governors (15-14, 10-8 OVC) were down by as many as 19 in the second quarter and outscored the Racers (13-16, 9-9 OVC) by 10 in the second half, led by Brianah Ferby’s season-high 21 points.
