APSU BaseballCookeville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team could not solve the hot bats of Tennessee Tech, dropping both ends of a Friday Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Bush Stadium – falling 4-0 in the opener before seeing a late rally fall short in a 15-12 loss in the nightcap.

APSU Beach Volleyball defeats Lincoln Memorial, Huntingdon at Carson-Newman Tournament

APSU Women's VolleyballJefferson City, TN – Austin Peay State University beach volleyball team ended their losing streak in dramatic fashion with two wins at the Carson-Newman Tournament, Friday.

The Govs struggled in the early pairings against Lincoln Memorial University, but were able to find a rhythm in the third pair, carrying that energy to three-straight two-set wins in the final three games as the Governors took the matchup 3-2.

Fort Campbell to test Wireless Emergency Alert on Integrated Public Alert and Warning System on April 3rd

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The Fort Campbell Installation Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will run a Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) test on the Integrated Public Alerting and Warning System (IPAWS) on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at 1:00pm, weather permitting.

The test message will display on mobile devices as an “Emergency Alert.” The body of the text message will state the following: “Test. Test. This is only a Test from Fort Campbell Emergency Operations Center.”

The WEA is a one-way message from IPAWS and is similar to a text message. WEA messages are 90 characters or less, and will show the type and time of the alert, any action you should take, and the agency issuing the alert.

The messages are free – no charges for air time, message fees, etc. – and not a service someone needs to sign up for.

APSU Men's TennisCookeville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team could not overcome Tennessee Tech, falling in an Ohio Valley Conference match, Friday, at the Tech Tennis Courts.

The Govs (1-14, 0-3 OVC) stumbled out of the gate, losing at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

APSU SoftballMorehead, KY – For the first time in 11 years, Austin Peay State University’s softball team opened Ohio Valley Conference play 2-0, Friday at University Field, as the Govs swept Morehead State by 3-1 and 6-3 finals.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigating Materials being stolen from Construction Sites

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office  is investigating two reports of copper and materials being stolen from construction sites. The thefts occurred on Bend Road and Chapel Hill Road.

Criminals target build sites with unsecured construction materials and equipment. MCSO encourages contractors to secure as much property as possible on build sites, request extra patrol in an area if needed, and report any suspicious activity or vehicles.

Clarksville Police respond to Shots Fired on Francesca Drive

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 around 7:37pm, Clarksville Police Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call at the 1300 block of Francesca Drive.

When officers arrived they were told by a man that he went to do a welfare check on his neighbor due to some erratic behavior. He said the neighbor, Joseph Dunn, came to the door and told him to leave, displayed a firearm, and then discharged the firearm.
