Brentwood, TN – For the sixth time this season, Austin Peay State University (APSU) Volleyball senior setter Kristen Stucker has earned the Ohio Valley Conference’s Setter of the Week award.
The Johnston, Iowa native led the Govs to consecutive sweeps against UT Martin and Southeast Missouri last week, as Austin Peay improved to 22-3 overall and 11-1 in OVC play.
Behind her effort, Austin Peay hit .311 as a team for the week, including a .432 team attack percentage against Southeast Missouri that was tied for the fifth-best hitting performance in program history.
Stucker handed out 74 assists, averaging 12.33 per set, during the two matches. She also supplied six kills and three blocks for the Governors offense. Against Southeast Missouri, Saturday, she posted 40 assists (13.33 per set) while also chipping in three kills at a .750 attack percentage.
This week’s honor is Stucker’s 18th career Setter of the Week award. It also is the 11th time an Austin Peay volleyball athlete has been recognized by the league.
Austin Peay begins a four-match road trip with a 7:00pm, Tuesday contest against Murray State in the latest contest of the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border series. It also will have OVC regular-season title implications as it pits league-leading APSU against second-place MSU.
