TDOC Commissioner Issues Call For Cellphone ‘Jamming’ Technology

 

Tennessee Department of CorrectionNashville, TN – Calling it one of the largest security concerns in prisons today, Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Tony Parker is again issuing a call for action against contraband cell phones.

Commissioner Parker’s latest call comes on the hills of a just released report from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) that cites the effectiveness of micro-jamming technology to block illegal cellphone signals in correctional facilities.

Cellphones are a security concern in prisons.

Lamar Alexander: Bill Approved by Committee Provides Border Wall Funding the Right Way

 

U.S. SenateWashington, D.C. – On Thursday, September 26th, 2019, United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) said the bill he voted for today in the Senate Appropriations Committee would help secure our Southern border and take another step in the fight against the opioids crisis by helping stop illicit opioids, including heroin and fentanyl, from entering the United States.

“I support the president on border security, and I commend him for pursuing funding for the border wall in the right way – by asking the Congress for funding, allowing Congress to consider his request, and working with Congress to achieve a result.” Alexander said.

House Passes Representative Mark Green’s Unifying DHS Intelligence Enterprise Act

 

U.S. house of RepresentativesWashington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Green’s bill, the Unifying DHS Intelligence Enterprise Act, passed the House of Representatives Thursday, September 26th, 2019. The bill directs the Department of Homeland Security to establish a homeland intelligence doctrine, synchronizing intelligence sharing and improving coordination across the Department.

Green said, “During my time as an Army special operations flight surgeon, I learned the value of streamlined intelligence on a mission.”

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – My name is Kendyl Weinzapfel and I am a freshman outfielder from Evansville, Indiana. I’m starting my fifth week and have loved every second of it.

Of course, it has been difficult coming from a small private school back home to a Division I school, having workouts and practice on top of class every day, but it’s so rewarding.

United Way of Greater Clarksville Charity Golf Scramble Brings in $25,000

 

United Way Of Greater ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region’s third annual “Game Changer” Charity Golf Scramble presented by Legends Bank was held on Friday, September 20th, 2019 at the Clarksville Country Club. An estimated $25,000 was raised for United Way’s non-profit partner agency programs supporting our community.

Tennessee Titans history against Atlanta Falcons

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – After 14 meetings in the regular season, the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons series is tied 7-7. The series dates back to 1972, three seasons into the AFL-NFL merger.

The Falcons won the last two matchups in 2011 and 2015 after the Titans took five consecutive meetings from 1993 to 2007. The Falcons won four out of the first five contests from 1972 to 1984.

This week marks the first time the Titans will play at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in 2017.
