APSU Football rolls over #11 Jacksonville State, 52-33

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) quarterback JaVaughn Craig rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two more as the Governors stunned No. 11 Jacksonville State, 52-33, Saturday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference action at Fortera Stadium.

In posting the Govs first win against Jacksonville State since rejoining the OVC in 2007, the APSU Governors dominated the first half thanks to three interceptions.

The Governors scored 17 points off those turnovers as it broke out to a 31-7 halftime lead. Austin Peay State University scored on its first two possessions of the second half, extending the lead to 45-7, before cruising to the victory.

Craig completed 15-of-21 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns – thrown to DeAngelo Wilson and Gorel Soumare – and had 30 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Austin Peay State University Football has a week off before returning to play with an October 12th contest against Southeast Missouri.
