Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis will compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men’s Ohio Valley Regional, Thursday through Monday, at Vanderbilt’s Currey Tennis Center.
The 22-team tournament will consist of a singles draw of 128 and a doubles draw of 64. Due to the high number of matches, Thursday and Friday will be played at two different venues, with some matches at Vanderbilt’s Currey Tennis Center and others at the Centennial High School Sportsplex.
Jacob Lorino and Christian Edison had the best showing of any of the Govs at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in Knoxville. Lorino and Edison won a tiebreaker, 8-6, to knock off Butler’s Lope Adelakun and Ryan Roegner and advance to the Round of 32. The Governor duo narrowly missed advancing to the Round of 16, falling to Lipscomb’s Victor Chaw and Pablo Caffarena, 8-7(4).
The Governors are coming off the Louisville Invitational, which saw Anton Damberg and Julius Gold finish as the runner-ups in the Flight G Double Draw. After dropping his first match, Edison got on a roll, winning straight to take the Flight D consolation finals.
Live results will be available for all matches played at the Currey Tennis Center. Draws for the tournament have yet to be released, but they will be updated here once they are sent out.
