Members of Tennessee Delegation Send Letter to President Donald Trump Supporting Governor Bill Lee’s Disaster Declaration
Washington, D.C. – Members of the Tennessee U.S. congressional delegation announced today that they have sent a letter to President Donald Trump supporting Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s request for a major disaster declaration for 10 counties impacted by severe storms and straight-line winds in October.
The full text of the letter follows:
Dear Mr. President:
On behalf of the State of Tennessee, we are writing to express our support for Governor Bill Lee’s request to declare a major disaster pursuant to the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief Act as a result of the damage caused by straight-line winds and storms associated with Tropical Storm Olga on October 26th, 2019.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators are desperately needing wins, but tonight wouldn’t be that night as the Tampa Bay Lightning came to town and beat the Predators in over-time, 3-2.
The Predators are just outside the discussion of play-off hockey and need to start collecting points, but in this “big boy” hockey game tonight, (as described by NBCSN) it was not to be.

This week marks the final scheduled appearance by the Titans in Oakland. The Raiders are set to begin playing games at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2020.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts administered the oath of office to twelve new Clarksville Police Department cadets at the City’s Council Chambers on December 2nd, 2019.
The room was filled with family, friends, and well-wishers. The new officers will be trained in-house at the Police Department until they begin the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy on January 5th, 2020 and graduate March 27th, 2020.
Austin Peay State University alumnus John McGee donates gold coins to commemorate 50th anniversary of his graduation
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) alumnus John McGee certainly knows how to celebrate an anniversary.
During his recent visit to campus for the November 9th, 2019 Homecoming football game, he donated more than $50,000 in gold coins to support his alma mater and commemorate his “Golden Graduate Year,” which is the 50-year anniversary of his graduation from Austin Peay State University in 1969.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department promoted three officers to Sergeant in a ceremony officiated by Chief Ansley.
The room was filled with dignitaries, friends, family, and well-wishers for the promotion ceremony.
Each of the officers promoted have a diverse background and wide range of experience within the department.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has closed approximately 100 feet of the westbound lane of Marion Street near the North Second Street intersection for water main repair.
Traffic will be alternately shifted to the eastbound lane during the work which is anticipated to be finished and the lane reopened by 11:00am.
