Clarksville, TN – Coming off its first win of the season, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis kicks off a three-match road swing in a Friday match against Saint Louis at the St. Clair Tennis Club in O’Fllon, Illinois. The match begins at 1:30pm.
Austin Peay (1-1) picked up a comeback victory against Oakland City, Sunday, to secure its first win of its 2023 spring slate.
After dropping the doubles point, the APSU Govs earned straight-set wins on each of its top four singles positions in addition to a three-set win on the No. 6 court courtesy of Hogan Stoker.
Freshman Aeneas Schaub went perfect in the win over the Mighty Oaks, pairing with fellow rookie Javier Tortajada in doubles for a 6-4 win. He then won 6-1, 6-0 from the No. 2 singles position. Tortjada also finished the afternoon perfect after winning a pair of 6-4 sets from the No. 4 position.
Friday’s match is the third all-time meeting between Austin Peay State University and Saint Louis, who enters the weekday match 3-0 with a win against St. Francis and two against Alcorn State. The Billikens have won each of previous meetings with the APSU Govs, with the most recent coming in a 5-2 in March 2021.

2022 Season Result: Saint Louis entered the Atlantic 10 Men’s Tennis Tournament as the No. 6 seed, but had its season come to an end in the tournament’s quarterfinals against No. 3 Dayton, 4-0.
Last Meeting: Austin Peay State University dropped a 5-2 decision to the Billikens, on March 13th, 2021. After falling in doubles, the APSU Govs were unable to complete the comeback and dropped its seventh match of the 2021 spring season.
