Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on 101st Airborne Division Parkway

Clarksville Police Department (CPD)Clarksville, TN — The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on 101st Airborne Division Parkway at the intersection of Whitfield Road.

According to CPD, officers were dispatched to the crash at approximately 8:30pm after receiving a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian who was possibly on a bicycle.

The Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) responded to the scene to process evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. All westbound lanes of 101st Airborne Division Parkway were closed while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.

In an update, CPD said the pedestrian was walking a bicycle across the westbound lanes of 101st Airborne Division Parkway when they were struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Clarksville, where they were tragically pronounced deceased.

The crash scene was cleared at approximately 12:00am.

The investigation remains ongoing. CPD said no additional information can be released at this time.

Motorists are reminded to use caution in areas where pedestrians and bicyclists are present and to remain alert, particularly when traveling through intersections and areas with limited visibility.
