AAA reports Fatal Crashes Involving Drivers Who Test Positive for Marijuana Increase After State Legalizes Drug

 

AAANashville, TN – AAA says a concerning number of Washington state drivers involved in fatal crashes are testing positive for recent use of marijuana, according to new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

The share of drivers who, after a fatal crash, tested positive for active THC – the drug’s main psychoactive ingredient – has doubled since the state legalized marijuana in December 2012.

Tennessee Highway Patrol requests help in Montgomery County Fatal Motorcycle Crash

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking the public’s assistance in Clarksville-Montgomery County with the investigation of a fatal motorcycle crash.

The crash occurred Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 on I-24 eastbound around 10:00pm at the 1.6 mile marker, in Montgomery County, Tennessee.

Tennessee Highway Patrol seeks assistance in Fatal Crash Investigation on I-24

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Nashville District is seeking the public’s assistance to help locate vehicles and drivers of interest that may have been involved in an incident that possibly contributed to a fatal crash March 23rd, 2019.

The crash occurred on I-24 at mile marker 24 in Robertson County. Two vehicles were traveling eastbound side-by-side when two unknown motorcyclists approached one of the vehicles and began to harass the driver. The vehicle then crossed into the left lane of travel and collided with the second vehicle.

Clarksville Police report Fatal Crash on Kennedy Lane

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, February 21st, 20/19 around 4:10pm, Clarksville Police report that a Cooper Mini driven by Cleveland Richardson, 49, was traveling west on Kennedy Lane and, for an unknown reason, crossed the eastbound lane, left the paved surface and crashed into a guard rail.

The guard rail penetrated the vehicle and exited through the rear, at which time the car slid to a stop.

Clarksville Police charge Justin Clark in Fatality Crash at Riverside Drive, College Street

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team Investigator charged a driver in the fatality crash at Riverside Drive and College Street.

The fatality crash occurred on October 19th, 2018, at approximately 11:36am. Justin Clark, 31 was driving south on Riverside Drive in a Ford F-450 bucket lift truck. The travel lanes had been shifted for a construction zone. A patrol vehicle, with lights activated, and cones were positioned in the road to block traffic headed south and redirect traffic.

Clarksville Police charge Mary Lancaster in July 2018 Fatality Crash

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team Investigator have charged a woman in a fatality crash occurring in July 2018.

The first fatality crash involved a car versus motorcycle and occurred July 16th, 2018, around 11:50am. Mary Lancaster, 77, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling south on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and attempted to make a left turn into South Hampton Place.

The Clarksville Police Fatal Accident Crash Team has charged Mary Lancaster for the death of Austin McWhite that occurred July 16th, 2018.

Clarksville Police investigate Fatality Crash on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tiny Town Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On March 17th, 2017 at 5:16pm, Clarksville Police Investigator L. Harris responded to a fatal crash at US-41A (Fort Campbell Boulevard) and SR-236 (Tiny Town Road).

Austin McElwrath, 21 years old, from Bumpus Mills, was driving a 2005 Suzuki Forenza in the right south bound Fort Campbell Boulevard travel lane waiting on a red light. His vehicle was struck from behind by Tyler Pettie, 25 years old, from Fort Campbell, KY.

On Friday, March 17th, Clarksville Police responded to a fataility crash on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tiny Town Road.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday afternoon October 5th, 2016 Clarksville Police Officers responded to a fatal three-vehicle crash on Ashland City Road that was called in at 4:08pm.

Vehicle 1, the at-fault vehicle, hit vehicle 2 head-on causing vehicle 2 to collide with vehicle 3. There were four fatalities from this crash.

CPD has released the names of the deceased today.

Vehicle 1, the at-fault vehicle, hit vehicle 2 head-on causing vehicle 2 to collide with vehicle 3. There were four fatalities from this crash– The driver from vehicle 1 and the driver and two passengers from vehicle 2. The driver from vehicle 3 refused medical treatment.

Clarksville Police release update on Deceased Person found in residence on Stateline Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016, at approximately 9:26am, Officers of the Clarksville Police Department conducted a welfare check at 160 Stateline Road, Apartment 13.

Arriving officers located an adult female inside the apartment deceased. Detectives were able to identify the adult female as 18-year-old Katelyn Thomas (Baldoni). The preliminary investigation revealed Katelyn Thomas (Baldoni) was assaulted inside her residence.

Clarksville Police continue to investigate the death of a person found inside an apartment located on State Line Road.
