The cover story, by Karen Parr-Moody, followed “The Roxy's Iconic Sign Gets a Facelift” — the restoration of the marquee that has defined the Roxy Regional Theatre and downtown's skyline for generations, a piece of civic preservation the whole community could rally behind.
“Hello, Spring!” ushered in the season with a health seminar on arthritis and joint pain, brought by Tennova Healthcare, and “Easter Fun for the Whole Family” rounded up the holiday's local celebrations. “Confessions from 6 Professions” offered an intriguing look behind the curtain of half a dozen local jobs, while “Operation Stand Down” and “Healing the Trauma” grounded the issue in service, spotlighting the support systems for veterans in a Fort Campbell town.
The recurring departments round out a March number that moves easily from a restored civic landmark to the working lives of locals to the care owed the community's veterans — the magazine's enduring curiosity about the people and places that give Clarksville its character, arriving just as the city shakes off winter.
“Hello, Spring!” came with a specific invitation: a free Tennova Healthcare seminar on arthritis and joint pain, set for noon on Tuesday, March 13 in the Liberty Room at 651 Dunlop Lane, where an orthopedic surgeon would walk through the most common causes of pain and the full range of treatments, from diet and exercise to medication and surgery, with lunch provided. The feature also nodded to the season's less welcome arrivals — the sinus pressure, headaches and itchy eyes that make many dread spring even as the greenery returns.
