APSU Men’s Golf Sits Third as Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate Heads to Final Day

Second Round Suspended Due to Darkness; Will Be Resumed Tuesday

APSU Men's GolfJonesboro, AR – Play at RidgePointe Country Club was suspended due to darkness with a handful of holes remaining in Monday’s second round of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, with the Govs sitting in third place going into Tuesday’s final day of competition.

Pending the final few holes of the second round and the corroboration of scorecards, Austin Peay State University sits roughly two shots ahead of both Murray State and Southeastern Louisiana. Host Arkansas State has a commanding lead at 26-under.

Freshman Tyson Seyler and senior Jack Dyer enter the final day of competition tied for 13th, each at one-under par; junior Parker Elkins is one shot behind them at even-par. Seyler leads the APSU Govs with 10 birdies through most of the first two rounds, while Dyer birdied four of the last dozen holes he was able to complete before darkness descended on Monday.

Seniors John Mark Mills (five-over) and Seth Smith (11-over) rounded out the lineup for the APSU Govs on Monday; Mills’ birdie on the 425-yard par-4 at No. 16 was one of just three birdies on the hole during round two. Playing as the individual, junior Zach Olsen enters the final day of play tied with Elkins at even-par, sharing 19th place; Olsen seeks his season’s first top-20 finish.

Teams will conclude round two beginning at 8:00am, Thursday, and play the final 18 holes alongside the same teams as Monday. Live scoring for Tuesdays’ final day of play will be available via Scoreboard.com.
