The cover feature offered “New and Old Reasons to Support the Customs House Museum,” celebrating one of Clarksville's most treasured institutions — the second-largest general-interest museum in the state — and making the case for the community backing that keeps it thriving.
“Undercover Hero — A Military Mom” honored the quiet heroism of the mothers holding families together through the demands of military life, a subject of deep resonance in a Fort Campbell town. “Prizer Point Marina and Resort” spotlighted a nearby lakeside getaway, pointing families toward a spring and summer destination close to home.
The health pages examined the effects of hormones on dental health and offered a “Tummy Tuck” cosmetic feature, while “Eat, Drink and Be Wary” added a note of caution. The recurring departments round out an April number that celebrates local heritage and honors military family life — the community's pride in its institutions and its debt to its service families, side by side.
Among the reasons to support the Customs House Museum was a new one taking shape in its basement: a cave, but one finished in months rather than eons. The renovated Explorers' Gallery would lead visitors down a 17-foot hallway depicting the geologic forms characteristic of Clarksville and into the made-over Bubble Room, newly nicknamed the “Bubble Cave” — downtown geology built by hand in the heart of the city.
