The cover feature celebrated the Downtown Marketplace, the seasonal gathering of local growers and makers that brings the community together around fresh, local food — a beloved warm-weather tradition.
“Regional Intervention Program” spotlighted a resource helping families with young children who have behavioral challenges, a meaningful look at local support for parents navigating difficult early years. “CAST & Crowns Performing Arts Center” celebrated a local hub giving young performers a stage and a creative home. The health pages offered refreshing smoothie ideas for the heat and explained dental implants, while a light feature on grills and candy cigarettes added a note of nostalgia.
The recurring departments round out a July number that celebrates local commerce, family support and the arts — the markets, resources and stages that make local life richer, all while keeping its practical, health-minded core firmly in place.
The Downtown Marketplace feature began with a Saturday hunt for organic, locally grown tomatoes and cucumbers and found much more — a myriad of local vendors in Public Square. Coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, the market ran 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday through October 22 in the lot at One Public Square next to City Hall, and in its third year had grown to more than 45 vendors.
