The cover feature spotlighted Miss Amazing Tennessee, the program that celebrates and empowers girls and women with disabilities — an uplifting story of confidence and community that embodies the values the magazine loved to champion.
The Rivers & Spires 2015 festival got its due as one of Clarksville's signature spring events, the downtown celebration of music, food and family that draws crowds from across the region, while the APSU Watauga Arts Academy and APSU Day of Play spotlighted the university's community-focused programming. The health pages helped older readers in particular, with “Living Well with Arthritis” and “Preventing Falls as You Grow Older,” alongside cosmetic and reconstructive surgery coverage.
The recurring departments round out an April number built around celebration and care — Miss Amazing Tennessee and Rivers & Spires bringing the month's joy and spectacle while the health coverage keeps the magazine's older readers firmly in mind, a community at its most generous and its most practical at once.
“Kaylie Hill has a sparkle and smile that never stop,” said Spencer Petty, one of the founders of the Miss Amazing Tennessee Pageant, which celebrates girls and women with disabilities. In January, Hill competed for the state title alongside fourteen other young women and teens, spread across five groups ranging in age from 10 to 35, and was crowned Preteen Queen — Tennessee's first Miss Amazing Preteen — in an event whose ticket sales and silent auction also gave back to the community.
