Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUFlorence, AL – For a second straight year Austin Peay State University’s Jessica Cathey has been selected to the All-Ohio Valley Conference women’s golf team.

That was announced Monday night at the annual OVC Championship banquet, held at Sperry’s Streakhouse in Florence, AL.

Austin Peay Governors Baseball selected as 2013 OVC Baseball’s Preseason Favorite

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will enter the 2012 campaign as the pick to win the Ohio Valley Conference’s regular-season title, as selected in the league’s preseason poll of coaches and sports information directors.

In addition, junior second baseman Jordan Hankins was selected as Preseason Co-Player of the Year.  He was joined on the Preseason All-OVC team by senior shortstop Reed Harper and senior outfielder Cody Hudson.

Nikki Doyle becomes Austin Peay Lady Govs Volleyball’s first three-time All-OVC pick

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – Senior outside hitter Nikki Doyle became the first Austin Peay State University volleyball player to receive three first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors when she was selected to the 2012 All-OVC team, Wednesday.

Doyle was the only Austin Peay volleyball player named to the 14-member All-OVC team. Morehead State’s Ellie Roberson was the league’s Player of the Year and led the balloting on the squad.

Four Austin Peay Lady Govs Volleyball players receive postseason OVC recognition

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsBrentwood, TN – Four Austin Peay State University volleyball student-athletes were named to the Ohio Valley Conference’s postseason all-conference teams, the league office announced, Wednesday.

Junior outside hitter Nikki Doyle and senior libero Paige Economos each received All-OVC recognition. Setter Cami Fields and middle blocker Hillary Plybon, each freshmen, were named to the league’s All-Newcomer squad.

Ademovic named OVC Freshman of the Year, Bailey and Norbiato named first-team All-OVC

 

APSU Men’s Tennis

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Jasmin Ademovic, of the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team, was named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year to highlight the Govs postseason tennis honors. Ademovic, along with sophomores Henrique Norbiato and Sean Bailey, also were named All-OVC first team.

Jasmin AdemovicNot only is Ademovic the first Govs player to be named Freshman of the Year, it also was the first time in school history for the Govs to have three players earn first-team All-OVC accolades.

Norbiato picked up his second first-team selection and it is the first for Bailey, who was a second-team pick last year.

The three standout Govs led a team without an upperclassman to its best regular-season finish since the 1998 season, entering the 2011 OVC Tennis Tournament with a first-round bye as the overall No. 2 seed. «Read the rest of this article»
