Nashville Predators manhandled by the Dallas Stars 5-1

 

Nashville PredatorsDallas, TX – The Nashville Predators were dominated by the Dallas Stars tonight, 5-1.  Every aspect of the Dallas attack was on point as the Stars evened the series 2-2.

The two teams head back to Nashville for a Saturday afternoon matinee at the Bridgestone Arena.  Puck drop is at 2:00pm.

The Predators never knew what hit them as the Stars scored three goals within the first ten minutes of the game.  Nashville didn’t help their cause any with four penalties in the first period, putting Dallas on the power play.

Nashville Predators regain home ice advantage with win over the Dallas Stars 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsDallas, Tx — The Nashville Predators came through in the clutch tonight against a very aggressive Dallas Star hockey team to win, 3-2. 

Pekka Rinne was the difference maker for the Predators fighting off 40 of 42 shots by the Stars tonight who seemed relentless on goal.  Combined with a stifling defensive core for Nashville, they held off the Stars to regain home-ice advantage.

Rocco Grimaldi lit the lamp for Nashville at 3:29 of the second period, skating the puck along the boards, then firing the wrister past goalie Ben Bishop for the early 1-0 lead.

Nashville Predators down the Dallas Stars 5-3

 

Nashville PredatorsDallas, TX – The Nashville Predators defeated the Dallas Stars in a highly entertaining game tonight 5-3.  Pekka Rinne stood tall in net for the Predators to keep Nashville in this one, giving the boys a chance to win it. 

The Predators win the season series against the Stars with the win tonight, in what many feel will be a first round matchup for the Stanley Cup playoffs.  The two teams have already been announced as the feature of the Winter Classic.

Brian Boyle continues to show why the Predators made a trade for him just a couple of weeks ago as he lit the lamp first for the Predators at 10:50 of the opening frame.  It was Boyle’s second goal for the Predators since joining the team and got Nashville the early lead, 1-0.

Nashville Predators defeat Dallas Stars with overtime thriller 5-4

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators just wouldn’t quit against the Dallas Stars on Saturday afternoon, capping off a roaring comeback victory, 5-4. 

Mattias Ekholm closed the sale with his overtime winner at 2:27 of the extra frame.

The Predators improve to an 8-0-0 road record for the year, which is the third longest win record to the start of an NHL season since the 2006-2007 season when the Buffalo Sabres won their first 10 games away from home.

The No. 3 seeded Volunteers (26-8) claimed a share of the SEC Regular-Season Championship after being picked to finish 13th by select media during the preseason. This year’s squad is one of only four Tennessee teams to ever win 25 games in a single season is the 21st UT team to represent the Vols in the Big Dance.

#3 Tennessee Vols beats #13 Wright State 73-47 in first round of NCAA Tournament

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsDallas, TX – A trio of double-digit scorers fueled No. 3-seeded Tennessee to a dominant 73-47 win over #13 seed Wright State Thursday at American Airlines Center in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
All-SEC wing Admiral Schofield posted his second double-double in as many games, with 15 points and 12 rebounds to go along with a pair of blocks in 32 minutes of action. Vols sophomore Lamonte Turner led all players with 19 points and a career-high nine assists off the bench.
 
SEC Player of the Year Grant Williams just missed out on a double-double, recording 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting and hauling down nine boards.

Nashville Predators Fall To Dallas Stars In Shoot-Out 4-3

 

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators had every opportunity to beat the Dallas Stars Saturday night at the American Airlines Center, but couldn’t close the deal during a five on three overtime power play, falling 4-3 in a shoot-out.

Nashville took an early 2-0 lead in the contest when Alexel Emelin opened the scoring just 34 seconds into the game with a bullet from the point to put the Predators on the board first. 

Calle Jarnkrok then laced one top shelf over Ben Bishop, with the Predators short-handed, to make it 2-0, and Nashville was off to the races.
