This is the third consecutive season in which the Titans and Dolphins have played and the second straight year the Dolphins have hosted the meeting. In 2015, the Dolphins took a 38-10 decision at Nissan Stadium, and the Titans returned the favor with a 30-17 win in South Florida in 2016. Miami leads the all-time series 19-17.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-0) begin the 2016 preseason this week against the San Diego Chargers (0-0). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 7:00pm CDT on Saturday, August 13th. The contest is a preview of the two teams’ November 6th regular season meeting in San Diego.
The game will be televised regionally on the Titans Preseason TV Network, including flagship WKRN News 2 in Nashville.
Nashville, TN – One of the first tasks for Tennessee Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt was to hire his coordinators. He settled upon Ray Horton as defensive coordinator and Jason Michael on the offensive side.
Michael spent the last three seasons as the tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers, working with tight ends Antonio Gates and Ladarius Green. In 2013, Gates led the Chargers in receptions (77), Green posted a 22.1-yard receiving average.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans named Jason Michael as offensive coordinator.
Michael has 11 years of coaching experience, including eight seasons in the NFL. He joins the Titans after spending three seasons (2011-13) as the tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers.
“Jason really impresses me with his knowledge of the run and pass game and he was a big part of putting together our plans last year in San Diego,” said Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Nashville, TN – With 2:05 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Tennessee Titans found themselves behind 17-13 with the ball at their own 6 yard line. Titans quarterback Jake Locker takes Tennessee down to the San Diego 34 yard line with 21 seconds remaining.
Locker then throws a 34 yard touchdown pass to rookie Justin Hunter to beat the Chargers 20-17. This was Hunters first NFL reception, first touchdown and it was the game winner. The second-round pick from the University of Tennessee became the first NFL rookie since the Jacksonville Jaguar’s Ernest Wilford on September 12th, 2004 to score a game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds or less remaining in the game on his first career reception.
