Clarksville, TN – From the time Tearra Banks arrived on the Austin Peay State University campus almost four years ago expectations have been high for Louisville, KY native and as the larger than life Banks nears the end of her playing career for the Govs she has cemented her standing as one of the all-time greats in the women’s basketball program’s history.
As the Govs enter their Ohio Valley Conference contest at UT Martin on January 25th, Banks is 12th all-time in scoring (1210 points) – just one point behind Georgie Vaughn for 11th place – and having passed former APSU standouts Sonja Cox, Kristen Stanback, Meghan Bussabarger, Jasmine Rayner, Carrie Thompson and Ashley Herring this season alone.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team hits the midway point of its five-game homestand when it hosts Evansville in a 7:00pm, Saturday contest at the Dunn Center.
In their last outing, the Lady Govs defeated Trevecca by a 98-77 score line and won at the Dunn Center for the first time since December 29th, 2011.
Clarksville, TN – Center Tearra Banks notched the first double-double by a freshman since 2007 but it wasn’t enough as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dropped a 79-69 decision to Arkansas State, Friday night, at the Dunn Center.
Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball freshman guard Tiasha Gray was selected to the 2012-13 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team, Tuesday, in a vote of the league’s coaches and sports information directors.
Gray, of Clarksville, led the Lady Govs in assists (73, 2.7 pg) and steals (58, 2.1 pg) while averaging 8.1 points per game during the regular season.
Austin Peay Lady Govs vs. Eastern Kentucky
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky will meet for the second time this season in a 5:15pm, Monday contest. The rematch will come just two weeks following the Lady Govs 66-63 victory in Richmond, January 2nd.
Both teams return to action following Saturday losses. Austin Peay dropped a 74-73 decision to Jacksonville State on a buzzer-beating game-winning shot. Eastern Kentucky fell 68-58 at Morehead State for its second OVC loss.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay returns from its Christmas break to begin Ohio Valley Conference play with a 5:30pm, Thursday contest at Tennessee State. The Lady Govs bring a two-game losing streak into conference play after dropping back-to-back home contests just prior to the holiday break.
Tennessee State has lost its last three outings entering league action. Both teams played Florida A&M prior to their respective six-day breaks, Austin Peay dropping an 86-77 decision, December 21st, while Tennessee State fell to the Lady Rattlers, 90-75, the next day.
