Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will be hosting a Local Authors Event this Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at 3:00pm in the atrium. The event will showcase published authors, Debra Coleman Jeter, Linda Jones Greenup, Barry Williams, Sara Turnquist, and Angela Deppler.

All authors will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and read an excerpt from their published work. Afterwards, authors will be available for meet and greets, book purchases and signings, and question and answer sessions.

Austin Peay State University graduates create debut comic book, named “My Name is Proxy”


Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – Long before the release of his new co-created comic book, titled “My Name is Proxy,” Barry Williams made a career for himself helping other writers and artists make their creative visions a reality.

In addition to his duties as a husband, father and teacher, Williams has worked as a colorist on numerous independently released comic book titles, including “Iron Ghost,” “Atomik Mike,” “Monsterpocalypse,” “Red Dwarf: Prelude to Nanarchy” and “Ghost Whisperer.”

Austin Peay State University graduates, professors to exhibit work at Wizard World Comic Con Nashville


Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This year’s Wizard World Comic Con Nashville will have a distinct Austin Peay State University vibe, as a pair of creations by APSU professors and graduates will be on display for the thousands of fans expected to file through the Music City Center, located in the heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

On Saturday, September 26th at 5:30pm, APSU assistant professor of history, Dr. Antonio Thompson, and APSU assistant professor of biology, Dr. Amy Thompson, will present a panel discussion on their new book, titled “…But If a Zombie Apocalypse Did Occur: Essays on Medical, Military, Governmental, Ethical, Economic and Other Implications.”
