First Advantage Bank helps thwart ATM Skimmer Scheme

 

Weekend Incident Prompts Bank to Accelerate Launch of CardValet Debit Card Monitoring App for Customers

First Advantage BankClarksville, TN – A plot to steal debit card and ATM numbers was foiled at First Advantage Bank last weekend after debit/credit card “skimmer” devices were discovered at three of the bank’s Clarksville ATM machines.

Working with an alert customer and local police, bank officials were able to respond quickly to confiscate the devices and are aiding local authorities in their ongoing investigation.

Clarksville Police Department release Video on how a Card Skimmer is Attached

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department would like to thank First Advantage Bank for their cooperation in the ATM skimmer investigation.

They are an example of how a business takes care of not only their customers but also the Clarksville citizens and the citizens in the surrounding area, by educating us all in the most current ATM skimmer incidents.

With their assistance and the use of one of their ATMs, CPD has released a video that shows how the skimmers attach to the mouth of the card inserts on the ATMs.

Clarksville Police release photos of Credit Card Skimmer Suspects

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Saturday, August 13th, 2016 the Clarksville Police Department reported that an individual noticed something suspicious about the ATM at the First Advantage Bank on 2070 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. It was discovered that a credit/debit card skimmer was affixed to the mouth of the ATM.

Other skimmers were also found at First Advantage Banks on 929 Madison Street and 1800 Fort Campbell Boulevard. Another Card Skimmer was found at F&M Bank on 1891 Madison Street.

Clarksville Police alerts public to Card Skimmers found on Local Bank ATMs

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Today, Saturday, August 13th, 2016 at approximately 9:00am, an individual noticed something suspicious about the ATM at the First Advantage Bank on 2070 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. It was discovered that a credit/debit card skimmer was affixed to the mouth of the ATM.

When a bank employee advised the other branches, employees from 1929 Madison Street and 1800 Fort Campbell Boulevard found skimmer devices on their ATMs as well.
