APSU SoftballAthens, GA –  Shelby Harpe threw a two-hit complete game and Katelyn Smith hit first collegiate home run to help lead the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team past Central Michigan, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Jack Turner Stadium, in Day 2 of the 17th Annual Georgia Classic, after dropping their morning contest to No. 21 nationally ranked James Madison, 8-0.

APSU Softball to play in the Georgia Classic this weekend

 

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – After posting a runner-up finish last weekend at the South Alabama Jaguar Challenge, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team will face arguably the toughest in-season tournament slate in program history this weekend, as they travel to Athens, GA, to participate in the 17th Annual Georgia Classic, where they will face two nationally teams among its three opponents.

APSU Basketball’s Matt Figger named OVC Coach of the Year

APSU Men's BasketballBrentwood, TN – First-year head coach Matt Figger and the dynamic low-post duo of senior Averyl Ugba and freshman Terry Taylor are all new to the Ohio Valley Conference, but they have left an indelible impact on the league.

Tuesday, Figger was named OVC Coach of the Year, while Taylor earned Freshman of the Year honors. Taylor and Ugba, the graduate transfer from Grambling State, both were named First-Team All-OVC and to the All-Newcomer team via a vote of the league coaches and sports information directors.

APSU Women’s Golf play in Cardinal Classic Monday

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – With a solid third-place showing at the NKU Fall Classic under its belt, Austin Peay State University women’s golf returns to action Monday at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State at the Players Club in Yorktown, Indiana.

The 6,204-yard par-72 course will feature an enormous, diverse field with 20 teams including the Governors.
