Nashville Sounds strike quick in win over Omaha Storm Chasers

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds got an 8-4 win Thursday night against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Nashville’s Matt Davidson launched his 32nd home run in the season to lead the Sounds’ offense.

Five of the Sounds’ runs were scored in the first inning. Zack Granite scored the first run on a wild pitch. Patrick Wisdom hit a two-run single. Davidson launched his two-run homer to cap off the first inning, giving the Sounds a 5-0 lead early.

Another run was scored by Nashville in the top of the third inning. Tim Federowicz hit an RBI single to extend the lead 6-0.

Nashville’s Pete Orr Goes Yard; Ariel Pena Picks Up Seventh Win

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds (55-50) downed the visiting Colorado Springs Sky Sox by a 5-2 margin Wednesday night at Greer Stadium, highlighted by a four-run 6th inning featuring Pete Orr’s pinch-hit home run.

Matt Clark, 2-for-4, got the Sounds’ big inning started with his lead-off single to left field. Caleb Gindl followed by slapping a double to right field to score Clark and level the game at two runs apiece.

Sounds Open Action-Packed Homestand on Thursday

 

Giveaways and Fireworks Highlight Five-Game Homestand

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Thursday, July 14th to open a four-day, five-game homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers affiliate).

Highlighting the homestand’s worth of promotions will be two fireworks shows, a Brendan Katin Bobblehead giveaway, 2011 Sounds Baseball Card Set giveaway, and a Taco Bell Throwback Thursday Doubleheader.

Sounds Lose 7-4, Swept By Reno

 

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Nashville Sounds lost 7-4 to the Reno Aces on Saturday night at Aces Ballpark in the finale of a four-game set to suffer its first losing series sweep of the season.
Reno right fielder Chris Rahl went a perfect 4-for-4 on the night, while former Sound Cole Gillespie added three hits and two runs scored.

The Aces scored the first run in the opening frame as Gillespie singled to reach base. Brandon Allen followed with an RBI double to left field to plate Gillespie from first base for a 1-0 Reno lead.

Reno scored four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, beginning the damage by recording two walks off Sam Narron to open in the inning. Former Sound Carlos Corporan singled home the first run, with Mark Hallberg doubling home the next.
