National Park Foundation gives Land Between The Lakes a Field Trip Grant

 

Land Between the Lakes - LBLLand Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between The Lakes is one of 186 federal sites selected to receive a 2016 field trip grant from the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks.

The grant will help offset transportation costs for students staying at Brandon Spring Group Center, an overnight group facility that focuses on environmental education.

LEAP Informational Meeting for Youth Summer Trip to New Orleans Rescheduled

West Creek Elementary School Students visit Fort Campbell’s 4th Brigade Combat Team

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), in conjunction with educators with West Creek Elementary School of Clarksville, Tennessee, facilitated a field trip for the school’s 5th graders, to Fort Campbell on December 10th, 2013.

“We were approached by our partners in education, they arranged this field trip for us,” said Sherri Hamby, the 5th grade lead teacher at West Creek Elementary School in Clarksville, Tennessee. “There is a lot of math and science involved in shooting guns and in flying helicopters,”

LEAP Holds 2nd Annual Youth Summer Trip

 

LEAP OrganizationAtlanta, GA – For the second year the Clarksville community stepped up to the plate to assist at-risk youth in participating in the LEAP sponsored Youth Summer Trip. Last year LEAP partnered with First Missionary Baptist Church to take youth on a tour of Washington DC. The students were exposed to a myriad of activities such as performances at the National Theaters, the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, and several memorials and monuments.

The 2012 Youth Summer Trip featured the MLK Memorial, GA Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Inside CNN Tour, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Zoo Atlanta, and Six Flags.

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville community accepted the challenge of assisting First Missionary Baptist Church and the LEAP Organization take youth on a trip to Washington DC. This trip provides the youth with an opportunity to journey through our past and see history in the making through an historical and relevant tour of the Capitol.

The students will be exposed to a myriad of activities such as performances at the National Theaters, the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, several memorials and monuments.

FMBC leads the charge on the road the DC

 

First Missionary Baptist Church leads the charge on the Clarksville Community Wide Trip to Washington DC from June 22nd to June 26th. The trip was originally supposed to be a FMBC Youth Group venture until the church partnered with the LEAP Organization to open it up to the Clarksville Community.
