APSU Women's Track and FieldGainesville, FL – A sprint contingent got things started for Austin Peay State University track and field team on Day One of the 2019 Florida Relays, which wrapped Thursday evening.

Kicking off the event, freshmen Tiyanna Johnson (24.67, 57th) and Kyra Wilder (24.86, 66th) both represented Austin Peay in the 200m dash, with Johnson turning in a career-best time in the event.

APSU Women's VolleyballTallahassee, FL – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) beach volleyball team fell against a pair of top 10 nationally-ranked teams, Friday, at the Seminole Beach Battle.

The Governors struggled early in the first match against No. 10 Stetson, Friday morning. Stetson improved to 13-3 after defeating APSU, 5-0.

#3 Tennessee Vols Basketball nabs 78-67 win at Florida

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsGainesville, FL – A drive by Grant Williams to the lane followed by a dish out to the corner to Admiral Schofield for a 3-pointer was the final blow that gave the No. 3 Tennessee Vols basketball team its first win at Florida since 2012, defeating the Gators 78-67 in Exactech Arena.

After being a close game throughout, the Vols (14-1, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) ended the last 44 second of the game on a 9-0 run to clinch the 11-point victory. Late in the game, Tennessee was able thwart the Gators (9-6, 1-2 SEC) offense. Florida was held without a field goal over the last 3:35 of the game and scored just four points in the final six minutes of play.

APSU Beach Volleyball releases 2019 Schedule

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) beach volleyball team is set to begin its third season of competition and second year hosting home events at the Govs Beach Volleyball Complex.

The 2019 campaign gets underway March 8th-10th when the Governors travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama for The March to May tournament, held at the site of the 2019 NCAA Championship. They will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, New Orleans, Spring Hill and Southern Miss.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsGainesville, FL – A battle between two of the SEC’s top defenses is set to take place Saturday night, as No. 3 Tennessee goes on the road for the second time this week to face Florida in Exactech Arena/O’Connell Center.

The game will tip at 5:00pm CT and will be televised on ESPN and can also be viewed online through WatchESPN. Fans can listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describing the action.

Tennessee (13-1, 2-0 SEC) enters the matchup on the heels of an 87-63 win on the road against Missouri.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Head coach Jeremy Pruitt will make his Neyland Stadium debut as Tennessee Vols Football welcomes in-state foe East Tennessee State to Knoxville for its home opener on Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff for Saturday’s contest is slated for 3:00pm CT on the SEC Network with Taylor Zarzour (play-by-play) and Matt Stinchcomb (analyst) calling the action in the booth and Kris Budden reporting from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius (Channel 113) and XM satellite radio (Channel 190) will also carry the game.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee football head coach Jeremy Pruitt is excited to get back on the practice field and continue to coach his young Volunteers squad in the wake of Saturday’s season-opening loss to No. 17/20 West Virginia at the Belk College Kickoff in Charlotte, NC.
 
“Every week’s important for us,” Pruitt said. “We have got to take every week as an opportunity to improve as individuals and as a football team. I think we will do a better job as a coaching staff getting them ready for the next week. We have to develop depth on our football team at lots of different positions, so it will be all be important, all the practice reps we get every week throughout the season”
