Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lowered their magic number to 11 with a 2-1 win over the Tacoma Rainiers in front of 5,005 fans Tuesday night at First Tennessee Park.

All the scoring between the two teams who lead their respective divisions came early as two first-inning runs held up for the Sounds.

Jesse Hahn started for Nashville and got the game off to a nice start with a pair of strikeouts in a 1-2-3 top of the first inning.

Nashville SoundsReno, NV – The Sounds fell victim to a five-run seventh inning and squandered an opportunity to win the series, losing 11-5 in Wednesday’s series finale against Reno at Aces Ballpark.

After Reno took an early lead by scoring two in the second, Nashville tied things up in the fourth. Brent Morel was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and Jason Pridie followed by smashing his 18th home run of the season. The two-run shot was the outfielder’s 14th on the road and closed the gap in his pursuit to steal 20 bases and hit 20 home runs this season.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Tacoma outfielder Jabari Blash homered for the third straight game to power the visiting Rainiers to a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Sunday afternoon at Greer Stadium.

The Sounds (38-33) suffered their third straight loss to Tacoma despite out-hitting the Rainiers, 11-6, on the afternoon.

Tacoma took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as a two-out walk came back to haunt Sounds starter Ariel Pena.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds (38-32) were held to two hits in Saturday night’s 2-1 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers before 8,287 fans at Greer Stadium.

Right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker (1-1) guided Tacoma from the hill, twice cruising through the Sounds line-up to carry a no-hit bid through the 6th inning. With one out in the 7th, Sounds first baseman Sean Halton recorded the team’s first hit with a single into right field.
