Three APSU Football Govs named to NFF’s Hampshire Honor Society

APSU FootballIrving, TX – Three Austin Peay State University (APSU) football graduates were named to the 2019 Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame announced, Wednesday.

Offensive linemen Ryan Rockensuess and Ethan Self and linebacker Gunnar Scholato earned the distinction, becoming the first Governors since 2017 to do so.

APSU Women’s Basketball coach David Midlick signs two players

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team will have two more fresh faces when classes start at month’s end as Alecia Gulledge, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Gabby Gregory, who is originally from Irving, Texas, have signed scholarships to close the 2017-18 recruiting period.

Gulledge, a 5-10 forward, comes to Clarksville after playing two seasons for head coach Mike Helmer at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas.

APSU Football’s Trey Salisbury Named Campbell Trophy Semifinalist by the NFF

APSU Football - Austin Peay State UniversityIrving, TX – Senior tight end Trey Salisbury was named as a National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Campbell Trophy semifinalist.

He is one of 156 nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the awards must be a senior or graduate student in their final year of eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsIrving, TX – John Ogles and Harold “Red” Roberts, the only two Austin Peay State University football players to have their respective jerseys retired, are on the 2015 Divisional Player ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame.

That has been announced by The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame. In total, 87 players and 25 coaches are on the ballot from the divisional ranks while 75 players and six coaches are on the Football Bowl Subdivision ballot.
