Nashville, TN – This is the 43rd all-time meeting between the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans, two of the eight charter members of the American Football League. The Titans lead the series with a 23-18-1 record, including a 22-16-1 record in the regular season and 1-2 mark in the playoffs.
While they met twice per year in nine out of 10 AFL seasons (1960-69), these two franchises have seen relatively little of each other in recent history. Outside of a pair of preseason games (1998 and 2006), they have played just seven times since the Titans moved to Tennessee, although they did square off a season ago.

Denver, CO – On Monday, March 7th, 2016, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning announces his retirement during a press conference at the UCHealth Training Center. Manning talked about his retirement during the press conference.
“In my very first NFL game, I completed my first pass to Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk. I threw a touchdown in that same game to Marvin Harrison, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this August. The quarterback for our opponent, the Miami Dolphins, was, after my dad, my favorite player – Hall of Famer Dan Marino – who on the first third down of the game completed a 25-yard skinny post and it was the damndest throw I’d ever seen. Later, I completed a pass to tight end Marcus Pollard down the middle and somebody hit me really hard and after I got up I told myself, ‘I know I can play in this league.’
Clarksville, TN – Cam Newton dazzled the National Football League in his rookie year, but did that make him the best quarterback in the NFL. There’s so many ways to distinguish quarterbacks.
You can compare them by the passer rating (both the NFL’s and ESPN’s), by passing yards, by touchdowns, by fourth quarter comebacks, by wins or by Super Bowl championships or the lack thereof. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN – We all know only two quarterbacks in Super Bowl history have won four of them and New England Patriot’s Tom Brady would join Pittsburgh Steelers’ Terry Bradshaw and San Francisco 49ers’ Joe Montana in that exclusive club if they win Super Bowl XLVI over the New York Giants. (It can’t be forgotten that defensive end Charles Haley is the only man to win five Super Bowls.)
But if the Patriots lose, Brady falls to 3-2 in Super Bowl games and join another not so wanting group of quarterbacks to lose at least two Super Bowls — Roger Staubach, John Elway and Fran Tarkenton, who both lost three, and the only man to lose four Super Bowls, Jim Kelly. «Read the rest of this article»
The Final Horne: Govs better with Fraley, Tebow vs. Brady, NBA is back, NFL picks and what’s going on this weekend in sports
Caught some of Austin Peay State University’s men’s basketball practice Thursday and they were really working hard. They are just a different and much better team with John Fraley back at center. He just makes everything go and allows Will Triggs and Melvin Baker to play their natural positions. Fraley doesn’t need to score that many points, but his rebounding and presence in the middle makes a huge difference.
The Govs have made some other moves by starting freshman Herdie Lawrence and moving TyShwan Edmondson to the bench and having him as the sixth man. But even then, everything just flows much better because Fraley is there.
Tennessee Titans (1-1) vs. Denver Broncos (1-1)
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (1-1) host the Denver Broncos (1-1) this week at LP Field (capacity 69,143). Kickoff is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, September 25th.
The 39th all-time meeting between the former American Football League rivals is also a rematch of an early season battle last year at LP Field. In that contest, played on October 3rd, the Broncos used 341 passing yards by Kyle Orton to defeat the Titans 26-20. Orton provided the game’s decisive score with a touchdown pass to Correll Buckhalter with less than two minutes remaining. «Read the rest of this article»
Tennessee Titans (2-1) vs. Denver Broncos (1-2)
Nashville, TN – After improving their record to 2-1 with a road victory over the New York Giants, the Tennessee Titans return home this week to play the Denver Broncos (1-2). Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, October 3rd.
The Titans and Broncos, two charter members of the AFL in 1960, have played infrequently in recent years. This week’s visit by the Broncos is only their second game in Tennessee since the Titans’ move to the state in 1997, and Jeff Fisher has faced the Broncos just three times as a head coach, fewer than any other AFC opponent. The Titans’ all-time record against the Broncos, including playoffs, is 21-15-1. «Read the rest of this article»
