Austin, TX – Tennessee (4-3) will play its final non-conference road game on Sunday, as the Lady Vols take on #17 Texas (2-4) at 3:30pm CT (4:30pm ET).

Knoxville, TN – Redshirt junior Mercedes Russell scored a season-high 22 points in No. 22/25 Tennessee’s 88-66 loss to No. 4 Baylor on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Russell added 12 rebounds and four blocks en route to her fifth double-double of the season and 16th of her career. Junior Jaime Nared recorded her fourth consecutive double-double with 19 points and a career-high tying 11 rebounds. Nared added two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Despite being on the road in front of a crowd of 9,244, Baylor (9-1) controlled the game from the opening tip, starting the game on an 11-0 run. Baylor outscored the Lady Vols (4-3) in each of the first three quarters to take a 27-point lead into the final period.

Knoxville, TN – Notre Dame, Baylor, Texas and Stanford headline a stout non-conference Tennessee women’s basketball schedule that was released on Monday by fifth-year Lady Vol Head Coach Holly Warlick (108-34, .761).

UT, which returns four starters from a team that finished 22-14 and rallied for the program’s fourth NCAA Elite Eight appearance in five seasons, is ranked No. 11 in Charlie Creme’s ESPN.com “Way-Too-Early Preseason top 25”. The Lady Vols welcome back their top scorer in redshirt junior guard Diamond DeShields (14.3 ppg.) and top rebounder in redshirt junior center Mercedes Russell (8.3 rpg.).
Clarksville, TN – High school basketball in Tennessee officially came to a close Saturday, March 15th when the Blackman Blaze (28-6) defeated Oak Ridge to win the boys Class AAA state title.
The win came just one week after the Blackman Lady Blaze (34-1) defeated Ridgeway to capture the girls Class AAA state title. The wins marked the sixth time a school has swept both state titles.

Clarksville High also gets to Host one more Game
Clarksville, TN – The ultimate mission for Clarksville High School Girls Basketball is still the same: Win the Class AAA State Championship.
But the Lady Wildcats had one more immediate goal they wanted to accomplish and thanks to their 63-46 victory over Mt. Juliet in the Region 5-AAA Championship Game Wednesday night they will be able to do it
That goal was to play one more game at home in the William Workman Gym and Clarksville High will do that Saturday at 7:00pm when they host Sectionals against Brentwood, the Region 6-AAA runner up.
