Nashville Sounds hold Gwinnett Stripers scoreless in 7-0 win

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – Weston Wilson broke the game open in the seventh inning with a three-run home run to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 7-0 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field. Nashville recorded their fifth shutout of the season and their second of the series.

With two outs in the first inning, Matt Lipka gave the Sounds a quick 1-0 lead with a solo home run to left field. Troy Stokes Jr. extended the Nashville lead to 2-0 in the second, driving in Kevin Kramer with a single.

Nashville Sounds give up 15 hits in 8-4 loss to Gwinnett Stripers

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – The Nashville Sounds made a lot of noise late in the game on Saturday night, but an eight-run deficit was too much to overcome in an 8-4 loss against the Gwinnett Stripers at Coolray Field. The seven-game set is even at three wins apiece entering Sunday’s finale.

The Sounds had only one hit through seven innings against Jose Rodriguez and Jasseel De La Cruz (1-2) and trailed 8-0 entering the eighth inning when they fought back. They sent eight hitters to the plate in the eighth, and Mitch Longo roped a pinch-hit RBI single to get them on the board.

Nashville Sounds slip past Gwinnett Stripers, 3-1

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – The Nashville Sounds got 13 strikeouts from four pitchers and 10 hits from their offense on Friday night while never trailing in a 3-1 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers at Coolray Field. The Sounds improved to 11-5 against the Stripers this season and have won three of the five so far in the seven-game series.

Starter Josh Lindblom led the charge on the mound, yielding one run and scattering six hits with no walks and five strikeouts over five innings. In nine appearances with the Sounds, Lindblom (3-0) has yet to allow more than one run in any outing.

Nashville Sounds fall in extra innings to Gwinnett Stripers

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – The Nashville Sounds let an early lead turn into an extra-inning loss on Friday night, as a 6-0 advantage became an 8-7, 10-inning defeat against the Gwinnett Stripers at Coolray Field.

Cooper Hummel led off the game with a homer, and Zach Green belted a grand slam, but three errors and four unearned runs became the difference in the contest. It was the eighth one-run affair between the Sounds and Gwinnett this season out of 10 games.

Hummel’s homer came off Jasseel De La Cruz on the eighth pitch of the game, the second leadoff homer by a Sound this season.

Nashville Sounds lose 9-3 at Gwinnett Stripers

 

Nashville SoundsLawrenceville, GA – For the second night in a row, the Nashville Sounds outhit the Gwinnett Stripers but lost, suffering a 9-3 defeat on Wednesday night at Coolray Field. The Sounds have suffered four consecutive losses and have dropped to second place in their division after 22 consecutive days with at least a share of first place.

Each time the Sounds scored, Gwinnett answered in the bottom half. In the top of the first, Jamie Westbrook singled to extend his hitting streak to eight games, and Keston doubled to extend his hitting streak to 12 games.
