Austin Peay hopes to end 2015 on a high note against a two-win Tennessee Tech squad that has lost five straight (average deficit: 25.2 points) since a two-game winning streak in late September.

Kenwood High School’s Maleek Hall signs with Tennessee Tech

Clarksville, TN – The Kenwood High School lobby was crowded with family and friends of Maleek Hall Wednesday morning, as he signed his letter of intent to play football for Tennessee Tech of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Hall had a superb senior season, rushing for 1506 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Clarksville High School rips Hendersonville in Region 5-AAA Quarters; Kenwood falls to Beech

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkHendersonville, TN — Clarksville High School had little trouble with Hendersonville in a Region 5-AAA quarterfinal game and won easily 57-34 Friday night at Hendersonville High School.

Clarksville High, the No. 3 team out of 10-AAA, will move on to play Mt. Juliet, the District 9-AAA regular season champions but the No. 4 team out of the 9-AAA Tournament, on Tuesday at Northeast High at 6:00pm Mt. Kenwood High School holds off West Creek High School 60-53 in District 10-AAA showdown

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – West Creek High School made a strong comeback attempt in the fourth quarter but Kenwood High School had an answer and with the help of clutch free-throw shooting by senior DeAndre Lisenbee beat the Coyotes 60-53 in a District 10-AAA game at West Creek’s gym Tuesday night.

“We’ve been struggling from the free-throw line and we’ve been struggling to close out games, but they did a real good job of finishing it out tonight,” Kenwood coach John Stigall said. “We handled the pressure from a really good team. They’re really athletic and play extremely hard. But I’m proud of how my guys hung in there.”

Northeast High School overpowers Kenwood High School in a District 10-AAA game

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – The No. 5 Northeast Eagles beat the Kenwood Knights  61-49 in District 10-AAA action Friday night at Kenwood High School Gymnasium

The Eagles (22-2, 12-1 10-AAA) were led by Kentucky commit Alex Poythress along with help from junior Darius Brown. Poythress started the game with a two-handed dunk to set the tone. The Eagles jumped to an early six point lead that forced the Knights to take an early timeout. Immediately following the timeout, Maleek Hall picked off a pass for an easy layup that ended the 6-0 run.

Kenwood wins on final day of Rossview High School New Year Basketball Bash

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Kenwood High School won on the final day of the Rossview High New Year Basketball Bash Thursday afternoon, beating Gatlinburg-Pittman 67-53 and did it after trailing in the first quarter.

The Knights went 1-1 at the event after losing to Hunters Lane on Wednesday at Rossview High School. Kenwood improves to 12-3 with the victory over Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Queen City Christmas Tournament at Kenwood: Knights and Vikings fall in boys basketball

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – It wasn’t a good night for Kenwood High School or Northwest High School in the Queen City Christmas Tournament as each lost their games Tuesday night. Host Kenwood lost the nightcap, and just for the second time this year overall,  to undefeated Dyer County 89-63. Winless Northwest was unable to get Cheatham County in the opener 62-43.

The tournament concludes Wednesday with Cheatham County playing Page at 5:00pm, Dyer County meeting Christian County (KY) at 6:30pm and crosstown rivals Kenwood and Northwest ending the event at 8:00pm.

Queen City Christmas Tournament at Kenwood High: Kenwood knocks off Cheatham County 75-43

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – Kenwood High had little trouble with Cheatham County at the Queen City Christmas Tournament at Kenwood High School and the Knights beat the Cubs 75-43 in the nightcap Monday night. In the first game of the three-day event, Northwest fell to Dyer County 101-41.

The tournament continues today with Northwest taking on Cheatham County at 6:00pm and Kenwood facing Dyer County at 8:30pm. It ends on Wednesday with Cheatham County playing Page at 5:00pm, Dyer County meeting Christian County (KY) at 6:30pm and crosstown rivals Kenwood and Northwest concluding the tournament at 8:00pm.
