Tennessee Titans roster remains nearly intact for next season

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Perhaps Tennessee Titans executive vice president/general manager Jon Robinson’s two most critical moves since the AFC Championship game were locking up a pair of the team’s own free agents with new, multi-year contracts—quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry.

Tannehill, acquired in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, was a catalyst for the team’s resurgence in 2019, taking control as the starter in Week 7 and finishing the campaign with a league-best 117.5 passer rating. He was named to his first Pro Bowl and voted the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year.

Tennessee Titans, Mike Vrabel Persevere in 2019

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – Following an impressive 43-13 win at the Cleveland Browns in the season opener, the Tennessee Titans lost four of their next five contests, including a shutout at the Denver Broncos on October 13th. At 2-4, there was little indication that the Titans would be playing well into January.

With a home date against the Los Angeles Chargers next on the schedule, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel made the decision to insert eighth-year veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill into the starting lineup for the first time since he arrived in Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans look forward to 2020

When the Titans fell to the eventual Super Bowl LIV champion Chiefs in Kansas City, a season that began inauspiciously managed to end suddenly and prematurely.
