Nashville Sounds, Minor League Baseball announces 2020 Season Cancelled

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – In conjunction with today’s announcement from Minor League Baseball (MiLB), the 2020 Nashville Sounds MiLB season has been cancelled.

“We are extremely disappointed to not be able to bring Minor League Baseball to our fan base in Middle Tennessee in 2020,” said Nashville Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse. “While we will not have our traditional Minor League Baseball season this year, we’re continuing to finalize details for the 2020 Nashville Sounds Alternate Season and hope to share those plans as soon as possible.”

Minor League Baseball to delay start of 2020 Season

 

Minor League BaseballSt. Petersburg, FL – Minor League Baseball (MiLB) issued the following statement today:

“In light of the current coronavirus outbreak, and after consultation with medical professionals and our partners at Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball will delay the start of the 2020 Championship Season. We will continue to monitor the developments and will announce additional information about the 2020 season at a later date. ”

Nashville Sounds to transform into Viheulas De Nashville from May 3rd to 5th

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its participation in Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión (Fun Cup™) event series. For three games against the Memphis Redbirds from May 3rd to 5th, the Sounds will change their name to Vihuelas de Nashville, complete with specialty jerseys and hats.

Copa de la Diversión started in 2018 with nearly half of the teams in Minor League Baseball participating. The campaign is designed for teams to authentically connect with their Latinx communities and embrace and celebrate the culture and values that resonate most with Latinx fans nationwide.

Nashville Sounds honor DeVry University’s Amanda Obson as “Student of the Month” Friday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – This season, Minor League Baseball (MiLB) named DeVry University as the “Official Education and Career Development Partner of Minor League Baseball.” This summer, MiLB and DeVry University are recognizing outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from the university who demonstrate citizenship, personal and academic leadership, and dedication to their fields of study as the “Student of the Month.”

Amanda Obson from the DeVry University campus in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of 25 students nationwide to receive this honor. Obson will be honored Friday, August 7th, at the game against the Memphis Redbirds.

Pert Plus will partner with area MiLB™ teams and disaster relief shelters to provide flooding and tornado victims with a supply of shampoo

Pert PlusDanbury, CT – Pert Plus, the official shampoo of select Minor League Baseball teams, is teaming up with several of those teams to donate packettes of Pert Plus 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner to victims of recent natural disasters in the south and Mississippi River Valley. More than 75,000 packettes will be shipped to the Birmingham Barons, Huntsville Stars, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, Rome Braves, Springfield Cardinals and Mississippi Braves for distribution among local shelters and relief organizations in their areas.
