Regular season champions were crowned and the seeds for the first post season tournaments were set. The District 10-AAA girls basketball teams experienced déjà vu as the Rossview Lady Hawks repeated as the regular season champions.

The Lady Hawks (18-7) controlled their own fate last week and got the wins necessary to capture another regular season championship.

High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – The countdown to the end of the high school basketball regular season continues. Less than 20 days remain until a regular season champion is crowned and the district tournament begins. The race has only gotten tighter since the second half of the season began.

Only two games separate the four top ranked District 10-AAA girls basketball teams with six or seven games left in the regular season. As of Sunday, January 18th, two teams are tied at the top of the district and they will face each other in a pivotal game Tuesday, January 20th.

Kenwood Lady Knights Slay Northwest Lady Vikings, 61-45

 

Servall Termite & Pest ControlKenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights (5-11, 2-3) ended a five-game losing streak by defeating the Northwest Lady Vikings (1-13, 0-5) at home, 61-45, Tuesday night. It was the Lady Knights second district win of the season.

Nine first half turnovers compounded early Lady Vikings offensive struggles. The Lady Knights scored more points in the first quarter than the Lady Vikings scored in the whole first half. Down by 17 at halftime, 34-17, the Lady Vikings stayed behind the Lady Knights by double-digit points the rest of the game.

Northwest High School VikingsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Fans dressed in all the local high school colors filled seats at the APSU Dunn Center to watch the 2014 CMCSS basketball jamboree. Both boys and girls teams hit the hardwood for their first chance to compete against other teams Thursday evening.

The girls got things started. The Lady Vikings opened the jamboree with a 15-12 victory over the Montgomery Central Lady Indians.

West Creek High School Coyotes - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The West Creek Lady Coyotes pounced on the Northwest Lady Vikings Tuesday night and did not let them up, springing efficiently to a 58-37 District 10-AAA victory.

Well executed offensive plays led to an abundance of scoring by nine different Lady Coyotes. They hit the court running and put the Lady Vikings in a hole they could not dig out of.

Rossview Lady Hawks Continue to Dominate, Bury Northwest Lady Vikings 66-14

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks basketball team continues to soar past opponents. Tuesday night on their own court they held the Northwest Lady Vikings to single digit scoring in each period. They dominated the Lady Vikings in a District 10-AAA match up 66-14 to remain undefeated.

The Lady Hawks put on a full court press that had the Lady Vikings struggling all night. The Lady Vikings committed 19 turnovers in the first half.
