APSU Men's TennisKennesaw, GA – Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis team could not keep its momentum going, falling to Kennesaw State, 4-0, Saturday, at the Betty Siegel Courts.

The Governors (3-7) led in two singles matches, but the Owls (3-4) fended off the Govs after a slow start.

APSU Women's TennisKennesaw, GA – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team continued its early season dominance by blanking Kennesaw State, 4-0, Saturday, at the Betty Siegel Courts.

The Governors (8-0) stayed unbeaten and welcomed back reigning Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year in Fabienne Schmidt. Schmidt, who had not played this year due to injury, returned to the lineup at No. 3 doubles to team with Danielle Morris.

The Govs (2-5) are coming off their first home win of the season against IUPUI, where the team won every contested match as they rolled to a 6-1 victory.

The Govs (1-7) have not played a home match since January 27th against Chattanooga, playing six road matches in February.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Looking to separate themselves from a crowded list of 4-4 teams in the Ohio Valley Conference standings, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team triumphed over Eastern Kentucky, Thursday.

Both teams were slow to get going on the offensive end in the first quarter, but the Govs defense made a statement early.

APSU Softball opens season with wins over South Carolina State and Kennesaw State

APSU Softball - Austin Peay State UniversityKennesaw, GA – Austin Peay State University’s softball team opened its 2017 regular season with two wins, Saturday at Bailey Park, in the Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament with the Govs defeating South Carolina State 12-2 – in five innings – before handling Kennesaw State, 9-1.

The two wins mark the first time since the start of the 2007 season the Govs had opened a campaign with back-to-back victories, while also extending its current streak of season-opening wins to six.

The contest will be a homecoming of sorts for APSU head coach David Midlick, who returns to coach against his alma mater for the first time. Midlick is a 1991 graduate from Ole Miss.
