Topic: Rivers and Spires 2011
Quilts of the Cumberland featured more than 50 quilts, ranging from tiny miniatures to full bed-sized artworks. The variety of quilts shown in this exhibit ranged from the perfection of purple geometric pieces in French Braid to the beautiful Geisha of Winter Snow and Tea Ceremony to the shimmering fish in Retiring Fish. April showers wash out second day of Rivers and Spires
Sadly, the good weather only lasted for half an hour when the first of three lines of rain showers moved through the area. High Hopes at Rivers and Spires Festival Opening, However Bad Weather Looms for Today
On the Public Square Stage, the Roxy Regional Theatre opened with a preview of the Civil War Musical, which promises to be an outstanding show to see at the Franklin Street Theatre. They were followed by the urban musical duo of The Bucket Boys, who use a collection of everyday items such as trashcans, pots, pans and street signs to crash and bang out thunderous grooves, extraordinary cadences and hip-hop, funky dance beats. The amazing Mr. Speed, a KISS cover band closed out the evening with rousing concert at the Public Square stage. The group has one goal to give the fans a realistic KISS experience.
