The Governors can be seeded as high as sixth and as low as eighth heading into Saturday’s 7:30pm regular-season finale against Southeast Missouri.
Austin Peay Governors vs. Eastern Illinois
Charleston, IL – Eastern Illinois point guard Jeremy Granger unquestionably is one of the Ohio Valley Conference’s top performers.
Just ask APSU head coach Dave Loos. The senior point guard has been a thorn in the Govs side during his previous three seasons as a Panther.
This season, Granger is averaging 16.6 ppg, shooting 46.8 percent from the floor, and averaging 4.2 apg, He has helped the Panthers off to a surprising start in 2011-12. EIU owns a 9-8 overall record, but slipped to 2-3 in the OVC, Thursday, are incurring a disappointing home loss.

Austin Peay Governors vs. Eastern Kentucky
Clarksville, TN – In one respect, Austin Peay doesn’t want to forget. In another vein, the Governors need to have a short memory.
Just two weeks ago, Austin Peay owned a 10-point lead with less than five minutes left in its Ohio Valley Conference opener at Eastern Kentucky, only to blow the lead, in particular, in the final 2:30 with a quartet of turnovers in a 67-65 defeat. That frustrating defeat certainly has been too fresh on the Govs mind.

Richmond, KY – The first two months of the 2011-12 season aren’t exactly what Austin Peay’s basketball team had in mind.
Preseason favorites to win the Ohio Valley Conference, the Governors opened the season with nine consecutive losses. Injuries have played a part along the way. The Govs saw center John Fraley go down with a concussion in the opener and miss the next nine games. As he was coming back, preseason All-OVC forward Anthony Campbell went down for the season with a knee injury for a second straight year.
Austin Peay vs. Belmont | December 21st, 2011 | 7:30pm
Clarksville, TN – A year from now, Belmont will be a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, a yearly foe for Austin Peay’s basketball team.
After running roughshod over the Atlantic Sun a year ago in going 15-1 in league play and 30-5 overall, the Bruins again are the overwhelming favorite to capture the league title in their final year in that conference. The Bruins return four starters from last season’s storied campaign.
Austin Peay State University’s Governors Basketball have trouble with pesky Rochester early, but comeback to win 72-50
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay expected Rochester to be tough. But maybe not as pesky as the Warriors turned out to be, because the Govs got everything the could handle from the NAIA school in the first 25:04 of the 40-minute game.
In the end, Austin Peay still found away to win and controled the final 14:56 en route to a 72-50 victory Saturday night in the Dunn Center.
“I was really disappointed in our play in the first half in a number of different ways,” APSU coach Dave Loos said. “But as poorly as we played in the first half, we proably played that well in the second half and it started with the eneregy we played with.”
