Tennessee House of Representatives Welcomes Japan’s Consul-General

Tennessee State Representative - District 68Nashville, TN – The Tennessee House of Representatives was pleased to welcome Mr. Masami Kinefuchi to attend Wednesday’s session of the House and to present him with a House Joint Resolution recognizing the great contribution he has made to the economy of Tennessee.

The consul-general’s job is to facilitate economic and cultural exchange between Japan and the United States. He has jurisdiction over five states—Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In these five states, there are more than 400 Japanese companies.

In Tennessee there are over 180 Japanese-based business employing more than 46,000 individuals with the largest company being Nissan with an assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. Other Japanese companies in Tennessee are Denso, Bridgestone, Calsonic, and Yorozu.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Appoints Clarksville’s Jill Ayers as Circuit Court Judge for 19th Judicial District

 

Vacancy created when Tennessee General Assembly established additional Court

State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed Jill Bartee Ayers of Clarksville as Circuit Court Judge for Division IV of the 19th Judicial District, a position created by the Tennessee General Assembly earlier this year. The 19th Judicial District serves Montgomery County and Robertson County.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Jill’s legal experience to fill this important position,” Haslam said. “Citizens of the 19th Judicial District will be well served by her appointment.”

(R) Ted Crozier, US Army, with the inaugural SAFE Community Heroes Award to recognize Col. Crozier’s passionate work for Soldiers, veterans and family members.

The award was the Inaugural Community Heroes Award and will in years to come awarded by SAFE to honor those who work tirelessly for our military, veterans and their families.
