Nashville Sounds join Minor League Baseball’s Community First Campaign

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced its participation in Minor League Baseball’s CommUNITY First initiative. The campaign is geared to raise funds for local Feeding America food banks while also honoring local heroes risking their lives on the front lines of the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

Feeding America is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to fighting domestic hunger through a network of food banks. The local Feeding America food bank the Sounds and its fans will raise money for is Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (2-1) return home this week to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles (2-1). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CDT on Sunday, September 30th, 2018.

The game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX 17. Play-by-play announcer Chris Myers and analyst Daryl Johnston will call the action, and Laura Okmin will report from the sidelines.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TennesseeNashville, TN – Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is marking a milestone in 2018: 40 years of feeding the hungry in Middle Tennessee. Since 1978, Second Harvest has grown from a 160,000-pound operation to distributing over 32 million pounds of food annually across 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee.

While the food bank’s main location is in Nashville, the non-profit organization reaches citizens throughout Middle and West Tennessee for the delivery of food through its 490 Partner Agencies. To meet the growing hunger demand in the region, Second Harvest will open regional distribution centers in Rutherford County and Benton County later this year.
