Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council is partnering with the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts at Austin Peay State University (APSU) and the Tennessee Arts Commission to once again bring acclaimed authors and songwriters to town for the 16th Annual Clarksville Writers Conference.  

The event will be held Thursday, August 12th, and Friday, August 13th, 2021 at the Art + Design Building on the campus of Austin Peay State University.

APSU Men’s Basketball falls at Vanderbilt 73-54

APSU Men's BasketballNashville, TN – For the first time since 1990, Austin Peay State University men’s basketball debuted under new leadership, squaring off against Vanderbilt under the watchful eye of first-year head coach Matt Figger.

Although Austin Peay battled until the final whistle and pushed Vanderbilt to the limit, playing the Commodores within single digits for the early portion of the second half, a late Vanderbilt shooting barrage conspired to down the Govs, 73-54, at Memorial Gymnasium.

A quartet of high-major opponents, an appearance in the NIT Season Tip-Off and five participants in the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament dot the schedule—an ambitious 12-game non-conference slate ahead of the grueling, expanded 18-game gauntlet that is the Ohio Valley Conference schedule in 2017-18.

APSU Men's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team overcame a sluggish start against Sewanee with a monster second half Friday night, pulling away late with an 89-72 victory over the Tigers.

After showcasing a balanced attack against Thomas More in the exhibition opener, Austin Peay was largely a two-man show against Sewanee, with senior Kenny Jones (25 points) and junior Josh Robinson (game-high 31) combining for nearly two-thirds of the Governors scoring output.
