Montgomery County Health Department’s COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Location to Remain at Civitan Park

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department’s COVID-19 Coronavirus drive-through testing location will remain at Civitan Park, located at 650 Bellamy Lane in St. Bethlehem for the foreseeable future.

The solution to provide two heated trailers for health workers to warm up and store items will be made available for the health department to use at Civitan Park beginning today, November 20th, 2020.

Montgomery County’s COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Site to change Operational Hours

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The hours for the Montgomery County Health Department’s COVID-19 drive-through testing will be adjusted to Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Civitan Park, beginning September 21st, 2020. Civitan Park is located in St. Bethlehem at 650 Bellamy Lane.

Testing times were adjusted in July from the original Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 2:00pm hours to 7:00am to noon to accommodate due to the high temperatures at the outdoor testing area.

Now, 60 years after winning three gold medals at the 1960 Rome Olympics, we once again celebrate the woman who shattered barriers and overcame the impossible. That woman was Wilma Glodean Rudolph.

Montgomery County to move COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Location to Civitan Park

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Beginning Monday, August 3rd, 2020, the Montgomery County Health Department’s COVID-19 drive-through testing location will move from Richview Middle School to Civitan Park, located at 650 Bellamy Lane in St. Bethlehem.

Originally testing services were to resume at Veterans Plaza by August 3rd but rather than moving back and forth from that location due to the upcoming voting schedule, Montgomery County Health Department Director Joey Smith worked with Emergency Management Agency Director Ed Baggett, Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Director Jerry Albert, Clarksville Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Letourneau, and the Tennessee Department of Health to find a long-term location for the community.

City of Clarksville breaks ground on District 3 Police Precinct

 

$3 million project will provide modern workspace for Clarksville Police

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville leaders broke ground Friday on a new District 3 Police Precinct to provide an expanded modern space to serve the public and improve the effectiveness of officers and detectives.

The new precinct will be built on a 1.5 acre site on International Boulevard just east of Interstate 24/Exit 8 next to Clarksville Fire Rescue Station 12.

Clarksville Police reports Warfield Boulevard east has one lane open

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police say Warfield Boulevard (eastbound) has a single lane open heading toward Madison Street. Warfield Boulevard heading toward St. Bethlehem (westbound) has both lanes open for travel

CPD is awaiting an inspection of the other eastbound lane to confirm it is safe for motorists to drive on without causing vehicle damage.

Large share of City of Clarksville’s Sales Taxes flow to Schools

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) received $43.2 million, or 72 percent, of the $59.2 million in local option sales tax revenues collected in the City of Clarksville in Fiscal Year 2016, according to an analysis of sales tax collections and distributions compiled by the City Finance Office.

The City General Fund received $15.9 million, or 27 percent, of the total local option sales tax collections inside the City limits in FY 2016.

Clarksville sends 72% of local option collections to Clarksville Montgomery County School System.

Clarksville mourns passing of former Mayor Ted Crozier

 

Mayor McMillan orders flags flown at half-staff in his honor

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Former Clarksville Mayor Ted Crozier Sr., who devoted his life to family, country and community, died Monday from a respiratory illness at the age of 91.

Col. Crozier served in the U.S. Army for 32 years, retiring at the rank of colonel in 1977. He served as the first Commander of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Campbell and was the first aviator to serve as the chief of staff for the 101st Airborne Division.

Clarksville Department of Electricity update on Power Outages

 

Clarksville Department of Electricity - CDE - CDE LightbandClarksville, TN – As of 11:40pm, Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE Lightband) crews and engineers have restored power to the substation and the St. Bethlehem areas.

As of 12:15am, power has been restored to Memorial Drive and Kingswood Court area. Crews are en route to Maplewood Drive, Jordan Road, and Eva Drive.

CDE will release updated information as it becomes available.
