APSU faculty, staff, student accomplish various work
Mike Wilson, director of the GIS Center at APSU, and Doug Catellier, GIS analyst, showcased the center’s Disaster Mitigation and Recovery Kit (DMARK) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Expo in Washington, D.C. APSU faculty, staff bring pride to University through scholarly pursuits
Dr. Victoria McCarthy, assistant professor in the department of professional studies, and Dr. Becky J. Starnes, associate professor in the department of the public management and criminal justice, spoke at the Tennessee County Professional Development Conference held November 3rd. McCarthy’s presentation was titled “Boomers, Busters and Bridgers, ‘Oh My!’ The Land of Oz and Generational Diversity in the Workplace.” Starnes’ presentation was titled “Increasing County Volunteer Satisfaction to Increase Retention.” Chris Burawa, director of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, had his translation from the Icelandic of the short story, “Holes in People,” by Kristín Eiríksdóttir, accepted for inclusion in the Best European Fiction 2011 (Dalkey Archive Press), edited by Aleksandar Hemon.
