APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative ArtsClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Council is partnering with the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, the APSU President’s Office and the Tennessee Arts Commission to once again bring acclaimed authors and poets to town for the Ninth Annual Clarksville Writers Conference.

The event will be June 6th and 7th at the APSU Morgan University Center.

Clarksville Mayor appoints Charter Revision Commission

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has announced the appointment of a twelve citizen Charter Revision Commission who will once again tackle the revision of the Clarksville City Charter.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Honors Citizen Soldiers on Memorial Day

 

This is part 2 of our 3 part Memorial Day Coverage. The final part will be posted tomorrow evening.

Memorial DayClarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County holds an annual Memorial Day Ceremony each year recognizing the price that soldiers and their families pay for their defense of our country. It also honors those soldiers who gave their lives on the field of battle for our nation. It lets the community mourn together with the families and friends who are left behind.

The Ceremony is put on by the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization and was held at Veterans Memorial Park (1300 Madison Street) on a beautiful spring day.

“Clarksville has a treasured trust in our relationship with the United States Military and Fort Campbell. As Mayor, I will honor that trust. There are few places in the world where work more vital to our safety and security – our American way of life – is being conducted than right here in our home. We are blessed and we are proud,” said Clarksville Mayoral Candidate and former Tennessee House Majority Leader Kim McMillan.
