Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators got a much needed win tonight against the visiting Dallas Stars, 2-0. The slumping Predators needed the two points in their quest to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Filip Forsberg finally broke through from his scoring drought with the first goal of the night, and the eventual game winner. At 19:07 of the opening frame, Forsberg ripped a wrist shot from inside the circle that deflected off of Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin for the 1-0 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators picked off the Ottawa Senators tonight at Bridgestone Arena and gathered up two valuable points in the process, 3-2.
Nashville, trying to fight their way into the wild card race for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, used the power play to their advantage, and held off a decimated Senators squad for the win.
Ottawa drew first blood though in this one, as Thomas Chabot scored at 4:53 of the opening period, grabbing a loose puck from the circle and beat Juuse Saros in net for the Predators for the 1-0 lead.
Edmonton Alberta, Canada – The Nashville Predators saw one slip away tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, 3-2.
Some questionable officiating late in the game put Nashville’s back against the wall against the number one power play in the league, and the Oilers took full advantage.
Craig Smith got the Predators off to a great start, scoring at 12:17 of the first period, scoring on the backhand from the slot as he picked up the loose puck for the score. Nashville took a 1-0 lead.
Calgary, Alberta – The Nashville Predators won the second game of their four game road trip through Canada, with a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames tonight.
Juuse Saros started his second game in a row in net for the Predators, fending off 33 of 35 shots on goal for the win. Cam Talbot took the loss in net for the Flames.
Nashville now finds itself right back in the playoff picture with tonight’s win, trailing these Flames by just one point for the wild-card spot in the western conference.
Winnipeg, Canada – The Nashville Predators began a four game road trip with a win over their conference rivals the Winnipeg Jets, 2-1.
Mikael Granlund ended the mystery at 1:10 of the over-time period, taking the cross-ice pass from Mattias Ekholm and firing the one-timer for the game winner.
The Predators, who are fighting their way back into playoff contention, pick up the valuable two points tonight and trail the Arizona Coyotes by just two points for a wild-card spot.
Nashville, TN – Just when you think that the Nashville Predators were on a roll, they come home and get shut-out by the visiting Las Vegas Golden Knights, 3-0.
Coming off of back to back wins on the road, the anticipation was high for Nashville to put together a winning streak, but the Predators just couldn’t get the puck on net.
Nashville was held to just 19 shots on goal for the night, while Pekka Rinne was having a career night in net. Rinne kept his team in this one for most of the night, but just couldn’t do it alone.
Washington, D.C – The Nashville Predators got a much needed win tonight against the Washington Capitals, 5-4. It’s been four years since the Capitals beat the Predators, and tonight’s win extended that streak.
Tonight was the first of back to back games, with a date in New Jersey tomorrow night against the Devils.
Richard Panik put the Capitals on the scoreboard first, firing a shot “top shelf” against Juuse Saros for the early 1-0 lead at 9:28.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators were hoping to “kick start” the second half of their season tonight after their “bye” week but the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs had other ideas.
The Leafs took the game 5-2.
The Predators, who are in desperate need of some wins, came out with some reshuffled lines, but fell behind early on William Nylander’s goal at 4:13 of the opening period to take the early 1-0 lead.
Nashville came right back though at 4:53 when Mikael Granlund took a pass from Matt Duchene on the 3 on 1 break to score the equalizer past Frederik Anderson for the 1-1 score.
Tennessee Titans (9-7) at New England Patriots (12-4)

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (9-7) travel to New England this week to face the AFC East champion Patriots (12-4) in an AFC wild card playoff game. Kickoff at Gillette Stadium (capacity 65,878) is scheduled for 8:15pm EST/7:15pm CST on Saturday, January 4th.
This will mark the second playoff game between the two clubs in a three-year span. The Titans traveled to New England for a divisional game following the 2017 campaign and were defeated by the eventual AFC champions. In three all-time playoff meetings between the two charter American Football League teams, the Patriots own a 2-1 advantage.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators were thumped by the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight in Nashville, 5-2. Columbus is fighting for a spot in the playoffs and played like their hockey lives depended on it tonight.
Scoring just fifty seconds into the contest, the Blue Jackets set the tone early and went on to dominate the Predators on their home ice.
Nashville is still tied with the Winnipeg Jets for first place in the central division of the Western Conference, but the St. Louis Blues posted a win tonight and inch to within two points of the leaders. The final week of the regular season is going to be a doozy.
