Clarksville-Montgomery County under Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm Warning, Wind Advisory

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The Nashville Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County, Northern Dickson County, Northern Cheatham County and Robertson County. A Tornado Watch is in effect until 1:00pm CST for Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee.

At 8:08am CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Elkton Kentucky to 10 miles north of Dickson, moving northeast at 60 mph.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a Wind Advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee, which is in effect from 9:00am this morning, Monday, December 31st, 2018 until 6:00pm CT this evening.

South winds will increase this morning as a strengthening low pressure system moves out of Arkansas into the Great Lakes region. Winds will decrease this evening behind a cold front that will quickly sweep across Middle Tennessee.

Sustained winds of 15-25 mph with gusts over 40 mph can be expected today in Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Severe Storms expected across Clarksville-Montgomery County tonight

 

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service reports that severe storms are possible late this evening for Clarksville-Montgomery County and all of Middle Tennessee, however the best chances will be along and west of I-65.

The primary threat is damaging straight-line winds. Large hail and isolated tornadoes will also be possible.

In addition, a Wind Advisory is in effect for areas west of the Cumberland Plateau through 10:00pm this evening.

A cold front will move across Clarksville-Montgomery County tonight bringing with it a chance for severe storms and high winds.

Severe storms are possible late Tuesday afternoon and evening. The best chance for severe weather will occur west of I-65. The primary threat is damaging straight-line winds.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a wind advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County which is in effect until midnight tonight.

Gusty south winds to impact portions of the mid state through midnight. Strong southerly winds will pick up this afternoon and evening mainly across the I-65 corridor and surrounding areas.

South winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts around 35 mph look likely along with isolated locations seeing sustained winds up to 30 mph and gusts to 40 mph. Wind advisory in effect until midnight tonight.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a wind advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County which is in effect from 9:00am to 7:00pm CT Wednesday.

An approaching cold front will help generate gusty winds on Wednesday. By 9:00am, sustained winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph. These south to southwest winds will continue through the day with some gusts of 40 to 45 mph.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports a strong front will move into the Clarksville-Montgomery County area and the mid state this evening, Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. As the front approaches, sustained winds will reach 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph. The winds are expected to drop off late tonight after the front and thunderstorms move through the area.

A wind advisory means that winds over 35 mph are expected. Secure loose objects and prepare for possible power outages. Exercise caution while driving.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weater Service (NWS) reports gusty winds will continue across Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as Middle Tennessee through this evening. A low pressure system will move across the Ohio Valley Region with a trailing cold front crossing Middle Tennessee this evening.
