Kris Wolfe: My Husband’s Thoughts on Our Marriage

Clarksville, TN – Ever wish you could get inside your spouse’s brain? Too scary? I agree. But a little insight can go a long way.

We have been through some tough stuff! We are going through some tough stuff now, but I will have to give my husband, Byron props in our marriage. He understands two things that can offer the very best relationship “insurance”: GOD and being ALL IN. Byron and I aren’t perfect, nor is our relationship. But what has worked for us so far, is putting each other first, and God before ourselves.

Recently my younger brother asked Byron this question:

“Did the problems you and Kris went through bring you closer together?”

Byron replied:

“I wouldn’t say that necessarily. We are close because we work at it, and because God is in the center of it. Anyone who tells you marriage isn’t work, either isn’t married, or isn’t trying hard enough (in their relationship).”

Marriage isn’t dating. I mean, we should keep courting our spouses and going on “dates” with them. But marriage is marriage. One thing that destroys the integrity of marriage is when we treat it like something disposable.

Don’t give up without a fight, remembering that you are in the same corner, and God is on your side!
