Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Street Department crews have been busy removing debris from roadways littered with downed trees and limbs in the wake of recent severe weather that dates back to April 20th. Currently, three crews are picking up remains of approximately 210 trees that have fallen across streets and been pushed aside.
In the days ahead, crews will shift their focus to collecting limbs and trees debris from neighborhoods. As of this morning, the Street Department has received 680 requests from residents for debris removal, and Street Department Director David Shepard expects that number to rise to more than 700 by day’s end.
“We ask that everyone please be patient, we are trying to work through this as quickly as possible,” Shepard said, adding that crews will be using two chippers to help speed up the process.
Crews will haul away limbs up to eight feet in length that are placed at curbside. Residents must call the Street Department at 931-645-7464 to request a pick up.
