Austin Peay Lady Govs Basketball continues to add frontcourt depth, signs Atlanta’s Nowokocha

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Carrie Daniels, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach, continued to bolster her frontcourt for the 2012-13 campaign, adding Atlanta’s Jennifer Nowokocha, who has signed a national letter of intent.

Nwokocha, a 5-11 forward, was an honorable-mention all-state selection as a junior after averaging 13.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game at Riverwood International Charter School.

She was a named to the second-team All-North Fulton squad by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and was an All-Region 5-AAA selection. Nowkocha has scored 958 points (12.1 ppg) and grabbed 572 rebounds (7.2 rpg) during her prep career.

“We are thrilled that Jennifer has chosen the Lady Govs as her family for the next four years,” said Lady Govs head coach Carrie Daniels. “I have no doubt she will be able to fit into our system and compete in the Ohio Valley Conference. Jennifer is such an athlete and competitor and has a bright future at Austin Peay.”
