Nashville Sounds open Four Game Homestand on Friday

Homestand Highlighted By Two Fireworks Shows, Autograph Day, And Specialty Jersey Auction

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Friday, May 25th, to open a four-game homestand against the Round Rock Express (Rangers affiliate).

Highlighting the week’s worth of promotions will be two fireworks shows, the first Autograph Day of the 2012 season, and “Line Drives For Lungs Night” – a special evening for the American Lung Association in Tennessee at the ballpark during which the Sounds will wear special red and white jerseys on the field.

Postgame fireworks kick off the homestand as the Sounds welcome Round Rock for Friday’s 7:05pm homestand opener. Two collection drives will be held at the ballpark. Fans are invited to bring new and used clothing for all ages for Goodwill Industries Of Middle Tennessee. As part of Hitting a Home Run for Education, fans are also invited to bring new or gently-used children’s books to Fan Relations and then stop by the Tennessee Lottery table on the concourse for fun games and prizes.

To help raise awareness about stroke prevention and recognition with St. Thomas Hospital, free screenings, giveaways, and information about warning signs of stroke will be available when gates open at 6:05pm and stroke survivors are urged to attend.

Postgame fireworks, courtesy of Nashville’s NEWS 2, will light up the sky following Saturday evening’s 6:35pm contest with the Express! As part of Youth Baseball Night, area youth baseball teams have an opportunity for a fun-filled evening camping right on the field – overnight at Greer Stadium (weather permitting).

Also on Saturday, the Sounds will be wearing red and white jerseys in support of the American Lung Association in Tennessee. Fans have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction during the game in order to take home a player’s jersey right off his back following the contest. The auction begins when gates open at 5:35pm and continues until the end of the fifth inning. All proceeds benefit the American Lung Association in Tennessee.

The family-friendly Faith & Family Sunday will occur at 2:05pm on Sunday afternoon. Fans receive half off of reserved or general admission tickets when a church or community bulletin is displayed at the box office. Limit eight tickets per bulletin and only redeemable on the day of game. It is also Autograph Day, where a pre-game autograph session will take place on field with members of the Sounds team and coaching staff beginning at 1:25pm. Gates open at 1:05pm.

The Sounds conclude their four-game homestand with Round Rock with a 2:05pm Memorial Day finale. It will be Dollar Hot Dog Day at Greer Stadium, when hot dogs continue to be $1.00 at concession stands all day long. Gates open at 1:05pm.

Following the homestand, Nashville will embark upon a four-game road trip at Oklahoma City (Astros affiliate) before returning to home on Saturday, June 2nd to host a four-game homestand against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Marlins affiliate).

Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call 615.690.HITS or visit the Sounds’ website at www.nashvillesounds.com/tickets to order or for more information.
